Once again: 12345 is supposed to be an example.  There is no real
message '12345'.

As far as I can tell, that is correct.

In the docs, the number 12345 is supposed to be the message number that
you want to retrieve.  There haven't been that 12,345 messages to the
libc-help mailing list.

Note that you can also see the list messages at
http://sourceware.org/ml/libc-help .
