Overseers,
There are several alias lists on gnu.org which are setup
to forward to sourceware.org, but were done in the bad old
days.
For example bug-glibc-locales@gnu.org forwards to
libc-locales@sourceware.org.
Likewise libc-alpha@gnu.org forwards to
libc-alpha@sourceware.org.
Likewise gdb@gnu.org forwards to gdb@sourceware.org,
and bug-gdb@gnu.org forward to gdb@sourceware.org also.
The forward for the gdb@gnu.org works. How was this setup
so I can do the same for glibc's lists?
The forward for the bug-gdb@gnu.org doesn't work:
~~~
<gdb@sourceware.org>:
Mail rejected: List address must be in To: or Cc: headers.
See http://sourceware.org/lists.html#sourceware-list-info for more information.
~~~
How do I fix this for everyone? I'm happy to fix the
gdb list forwards also, but I'm not sure what's in place
that does the custom processing.

Cheers,
Carlos.

I responded to this in irc. The alias for bug-glibc-locales@gnu.org has been
added. I just added one for bug-gdb too. I've noticed the bounces going there
and have been meaning to fix this for a while.

Christopher,
I just tested bug-glibc-locales@gnu.org and it still fails this morning.
Attached is the failure notes.
It still triggers the: "Mail rejected: List address must be in To: or Cc: headers."
when I email bug-glibc-locales@gnu.org.
If I can help in any way, please ping me on IRC.

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at sourceware.org.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
<libc-locales@sourceware.org>:
Mail rejected: List address must be in To: or Cc: headers.
See http://sourceware.org/lists.html#sourceware-list-info for more information.
If you are not a "spammer", we apologize for the inconvenience.
You can add yourself to the sourceware.org "global allow list"
by sending email *from*the*blocked*email*address* to:
global-allow-subscribe-carlos=redhat.com@sourceware.org
For certain types of blocks, this will enable you to send email without
being subjected to further spam blocking. This will not allow you to
post to a list if you have been explicitly blocked, if you are posting
an off-topic message, if you are sending an attachment that looks like a
virus, etc.
Contact libc-locales-owner@sourceware.org if you have questions about this. (#5.7.2)

I got the option wrong when whitelisting the alternate listnames. It
should be ok now. I also added a domain whitelist option which causes
the mailing list software to skip the "no listname found" error if the
to address contains a whitelisted domain. So mail like
bug-glibc-internationalization-now-i-mean-it@gnu.org which is redirected
to a glibc list here should just go through.
