Sorry but no.

Assuming that xdje42@gmail.com is Doug Evans, he's a write-after-approval
submitter and cannot approve gcc access.

The request is for GDB, not GCC, and indeed it's Doug Evans. Perhaps I
mis-entered the details?

Sorry. My mistake. It was for gdb.

I received the sourceware.org account creation mail but it seems
something went wrong with the SSH key setup:

  $ ssh -vv sourceware.org
  [...]
debug1: Offering RSA public key: /home/wingo/.ssh/id_rsa
debug2: we sent a publickey packet, wait for reply
debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey
debug1: Offering RSA public key: wingo@rusty
debug2: we sent a publickey packet, wait for reply
debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey
debug2: we did not send a packet, disable method
debug1: No more authentication methods to try.
  Permission denied (publickey).

My local username is "wingo", which AFAIK is the same as the
sourceware.org name, so that shouldn't be the issue. Could it be that I
mangled the SSH pubkey? I am attaching my public key again.

Andy

Hi again :)

Frank Ch. Eigler fixed the issue -- it seems that somehow although I had
a UID, I didn't have an entry in /etc/passwd, or something.

However, I went to land a patch
(http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gdb.patches/96870/focus=104720) but
cannot push to GDB:

  $ git push origin master
  Counting objects: 10, done.
Delta compression using up to 8 threads.
  Compressing objects: 100% (10/10), done.
  Writing objects: 100% (10/10), 2.02 KiB | 0 bytes/s, done.
  Total 10 (delta 9), reused 0 (delta 0)
error: insufficient permission for adding an object to repository database ./objects

  fatal: failed to write object
error: unpack failed: unpack-objects abnormal exit
  To ssh://sourceware.org/git/binutils-gdb.git
! [remote rejected] master -> master (n/a (unpacker error))
error: failed to push some refs to 'ssh://sourceware.org/git/binutils-gdb.git'

Could it be that I am in the wrong group or something?

Apologies for being a bother!

Regards,

Andy

The SSH public key is correct.

Note that you do not have full SSH access. Try sending a command, as in
    ssh sourceware.org alive

If that doesn't help, send us the full "ssh -vv" output. In the
fragment you sent it looks like sourceware is not responding at all.

You weren't in the src group. I added you. Try it now.

It seems to work. Thank you very much!
