Summary: use DW_OP_GNU_entry_value for @entry($var) if possible
           Product: systemtap
           Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: translator
        AssignedTo: systemtap@sourceware.org
        ReportedBy: fche@redhat.com

A recently added gcc facility exposes saved copies of the incoming
parameters of a function with a DW_OP_GNU_entry tag. It may be
possible to use this facility for some @entry($var) type constructs,
which would save having to put a k/uprobe at function entry to perform
explicit $var saving.
