Bug ID: 16307
Summary: ubuntu 12.04 /bin/kill no likey new kill -SIG --
-[exp_pid]
Product: systemtap
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: testsuite
Assignee: systemtap at sourceware dot org
Reporter: fche at redhat dot com
/bin/kill on ubuntu comes from procps version 3.2.8, and does not
seem to appreciate the luxurious dual-hyphenation that our testsuite
now provides.

Which is funny, since this was originally introduced because ubuntu was using a
buggy procps-ng 3.3.3, causing the original -- addition as far as I can see:
commit 60d57102e6c06a326226acb7e6ab97c601ca614e
Author: Naresh Kamboju <naresh.kamboju@linaro.org>
Date: Wed Oct 16 11:56:16 2013 -0400
/bin/kill -INT -[exp_pid] not supported on Ubuntu which is having procps-ng
3.3.3
/bin/kill -INT -22504
/bin/kill: invalid option -- '2'
Due to this reason test scripts modified to
/bin/kill -INT -- -[exp_pid]

--- Comment #2 from Jonathan Lebon <jlebon at redhat dot com> ---
With commits 0b872dd and 5a2e1a2, a new kill proc was added which checks for
those buggy procps-ng kill versions (v3.3.2 and v3.3.3) and adds a double dash
as necessary. I ran the testsuite with various versions of kill with no issues.
