I've tested the prerelease on hppa-unknown-linux-gnu, hppa2.0w-hp-hpux11.11
and hppa64-hp-hpux11.11.  There are no testsuite failures on linux.  Under
hpux, there no new issues (just the problems noted in PRs 273, 1491 and
2470).

2.16.93 prerelease available

I have uploaded binutils-2.16.93.tar.bz2.  I think we're fairly
close to the 2.17 release at this point; I will give a little while
to see if further problems crop up (or e.g. more detail on the SPARC
libiberty build trouble).

I still see this but you can probably ignore it.  Basically, when I take a
tar file and run ./configure ; make it works.  However, when I take the tar
file, the debian/ directory from the current Debian package and run
dpkg-buildpackage then it works fine on i386 and powerpc but gives this
libiberty error on sparc.  Unfortunately, I cannot see anything obviously
wrong in debian/rules...

Try mkdir objdir; cd objdir; ../configure.  Does that reproduce it?

If so, does libiberty/pic exist, and what's in
libiberty/Makefile:PICFLAG?

Yes, it succeeds.  I might do some more tests tomorrow but please
don't hold off the release if you don't hear from me.
