I just figured out that RedBoot doesn't support use of an IP
gateway.
TCP connections via a gateway will mostly work since reply
packets are sent back to the Ethernet address whence they came.
If incoming packets come from a different gateway than outgout
packets are supposed to go to, this breaks. But, I've never
actually _seen_ a situation like that. :)
It appears that UDP traffic (TFTP downloads) are strictly
direct connections. Has anybody implimented netmask/gateway
for RedBoot. I probably will one of these days, but it's down
the list.
What I do need is for RedBoot and eCos apps to share IP
configuration info -- is anybody else doing this type of thing?
