Hello,
I am new to eCos/Redboot and have some problems with using "go" command with
RedBoot installed on PowerPC MPC5566. I have found similar problems reported
by others but with no luck in fixing it. Redboot was built based on eCos 3.0
downloaded from mercurial repository. I am using gcc tools 4.3.2. Redboot
bulids and runs on target -I can enter commands from Terminal. However when
I load a simple code to RAM (i.e. using "lo -r -m xmodem 0x40004000"
command) I can not execute it with "go". When in config tool "Work with a
ROM monitor" and "Behave as a ROM monitor" are checked and "go 0x40004000"
command is used, RedBoot seems to reset. When "Work with a ROM monitor" is
not checked, RedBoot hangs. I have tried many different configurations with
no result. Any help appreciated.
Jakub

Jakub,
I am a newbie, so I might get corrected by others...
I am using arm cortex m... but things should be similar.
When you build the app, I don't think you want Behave as a ROM monitor. I think Work with a ROM monitor is all you need. Also, I just type go and my app runs, but it hangs when main exits. I don't know if that is typical behavior or not.
