Dear Sir,
I failed to install gcc 3.1 in Solaris 8(Intel
Platform) without c compiler. When I configure the
gcc, the computer prompts me something like "cc:
without language option installed"(not exactly). I
have set gcc dir to PATH variable.
Please reply this message. Think you!

Solaris 8 includes a cc binary, but the binary does nothing but give the
message you described. However the free software CD that comes with
Solaris 8 comes with gcc 2.95.something, which is sufficient to compile
gcc 3.1. If you have that installed it will be /opt/sfw/gcc.
