    I think you want to much. People use this style of programming
    to make it more clear what they intend, and they will not
    want to get a warning on that. However, if you disagree
    (and maybe volunteer to implement such a warning),we can
    of course reopen this report.

I think you should get a warning when gcc -Wall used.
Perhaps you could handle other logic inconsistencies
also if you can think of any,
