FYI, I have sucessfully built GDB from CVS HEAD on the following
platforms: - sparc-solaris 2.5, 2,8, and 2.9
- pa-hpux 11 (32 bits ABI)
- alpha-tru64 (4.0f and 5.1a)
- ppc-aix 4.3.2 (*) and 5.1
- mips-irix 6.5
I ran the testsuite and quickly compared the numbers with the results
obtained with GDB 5.3, and they are encourageing (basically, I just
looked at the number of PASSes and FAILs).
I thought this might be nice to know just before we cut the 6.0
branch. :)

(*): There is a build failure on ppc-aix 4.x, for which I have submitted
a patch. Hopefully, it will be included before we create the gdb-6
branch... But once the patch is applied, it builds and tests fine.
