It seems that the server-side commit scripts for subversion on
gcc.gnu.org are truncating Subject: lines.  For example:

                           Subject: 
r121787 - in /trunk/contrib:
ChangeLog test_sum...

Is there any reason why would do this, as opposed to letting mail
clients show as much of the subject lines as possible (and truncating
the rest itself)?  I find these subject lines too short to be very
useful.
