Hi,

So, i was trying building Sid, as always, and i was so
happy because it seemed that i had almost get it
but.....as always something happened.....this time i

For some reason, especially on cygwin, the NLS functions of opcodes/bfd
don't consistently get built into sid correctly.  Try reconfiguring your
build tree with "--disable-nls".

File not found ! building Sid ! Help

Hi,

I foolowed Frank's advise about adding the option to
build Sid and everything was right until a certain
point when i got the following error.
It seems that there isn't  file of configuration with
the source code i got from CVS.
Please, any suggestion ?

Sid building under Linux ok...but... Help

Hello,

I built Sid under Linux but when i type the command
arm-elf-sid i got the message : bad bash command or
something like that.
Do i have change permission to files; i built Sid as
root user.
Any suggestions ?
Anyway, the source code is right because i didn't get
any kind of error.
Do i have to launch another time the building
procedure?
To build Sid i use the following command :

/SOURCETREE/src/configure --prefix=/INSTALLTREE
--disable-nls


Any suggestion ?

The details are important: please send what you typed and what the
error messages were.

Once installed, arm-elf-sid is a shell script that in turn runs a perl
script, which in turn runs the sid executable.  Your machine may be
lacking a perl interpreter - you need to get one.  (Well, now that
Graydon Hoare's sid/main rewrite has been posted, it's possible to
adapt existing sid configuration ports like arm-elf to use it, so no
shell/perl scripts would be involved.  Future work.)

By the way, have you succeeded in building eCos and your ARM program
yet?  Depending on details, you may be able to use the supplied sid
configuration files and run sid.exe directly instead of going through
the shell/perl frontends.

Error Building Ecos with RedHat 8.0

Hello,


I tryed to build Ecos under RedHat 8.0 and following
Robert Craige's suggestions i sort some problem out
about configtool software.
I entered into ecos_build directory and i types "make"
and i got the error at the end of this message.
I installed the arm-elf-gcc 2.95.3...is it old or
something ?
Please, i was sick for a week and this is my first day
at work and i was hoping to build Ecos !!!
I installed arm-elf-gcc from a RPM package...many

I am really sorry, but i didn't apply the patch to
build Ecos because i was sure that installing
arm-elf-gcc RPM would fix all my
probs.....but.....applying the patch and build
arm-elf-gcc i correctly built Ecos.

a) Why are you asking this on this list instead of ecos-discuss?
b) It looks like the RPM package you loaded did not include C++.
   Where did you get it?
