I have had a look in the archives for any mention of this problem but
have failed to find any reference to it.
I am unable to run the configtool under cygwin.
If I start the configtool from my project directory I get a dialogue
saying:

"C:\cygwin\opt\ecos does not seem to be a source repository:
C:\cygwin\opt\ecos\ecc\ecos.db does not exist"

the ecc directory is a symbolic link (or shortcut if viewed from
windows).
Clicking ok and browsing for the root of the eCos repository tree just
fails with the same message.

Creating an actual ecc directory in the eCos root directory causes the
configtool to briefly come up and scroll a load of
"This package does not have any valid subdirectories" messages in its
bottom console window and finally quit out.

I am using the new configtool 2.0 downloaded separately but still no
joy.

Any ideas?

I just downloaded the current eCos, and am having the same problem with configtool that I see in a message dated 15 Sep. The
error is that every package generates a "This package doesn't have any valid version subdirectories" error.

Andrew Lunn replied to that message, telling the OP to go to http://ecoscentric.com/devzone/configtool.shtml and grab the binary
from there. Clicking on the link to get the binary results in a "Resource is no longer available!" page.

Can anyone point me to a copy of the configtool binary that will allow me to run it? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
  Larry

When running "configtool" it shows warning like:
"Can not enumerate files in directory
'c:\cygwin\opt\ecos\gnutools'(error 3: the system cannot find the path
specified.)"
The path is already deleted and the repository has been changed to a new
location.
Where is this path specified in the "configtool" ?

Hello,

I'm running version 2.0 of the configtool. I have managed to pull the lower
pane of the configuration
window all the way down and can no longer find it so as to re-display the
output window. Is there an
easy way to correct this (e.g resetting to some default layout)?

Hi,

I downloaded the Configtool version 2 (binary), for Linux, a week
ago. I have some problem in opening documentation regarding the path of
it. When I try to invoke the 'Help --> Configuration Tool Help', I see
a message box indicating an error. The message indicates that the file
is not at expected loaction. It is expecting the Configuration Tool
Help files at

 'ECOS_REPOSITORY/doc//opt/ecos/configtool/bin/configtool-2.03/manual/'

I can read the documents by either copying the file to the above
location or manually opening them in a browser. But how to integrate
them into the configtool?

regards,
chandra

I suspect there was a configure problem, because absence-of-toolkit errors
should be picked up at the configure stage.

I recently corrected some compilos in Configtool so it will compile against
the latest wxWindows CVS trunk. I also updated stable wxWindows snapshots
for Windows and Linux and made them available within Red Hat but it will
need to wait until Jonathan Larmour comes back from holiday next week
before they are put on the ftp site.

There are precompiled versions of the configtool for Linux and Windows on
the ftp site.

ecosconfig is quite easy to build using 'configure' in the host directory.

Julian

ecosconfig seems to be command line oriented only - is there no menu
driven text mode utility? It's rather difficult to find out how things are
meant to be, and the online documentation doesn't really help for all the
details...

Hi,

I tried to compile the wxWindows based configtool but run into an #error
"Unsupported toolkit". Which version of wxWindows is known to work with
current eCos CVS?

Is there a terminal configuration tool (something like 'make menuconfig'
for Linux)?
