As a sidenote: when you send messages like the one below (and the previous
one I got), you make them look as if _I_ have sent them, which is not
true. Please change this style of quoting.

I'm sorry, I was totally mistaken -- I thought you were
compiling gcc itself, but apparently you were not. Should
take a closer look.
In any case, could you try to figure out why this happens
for you and not for Giovanni?

What happens if you configure from a separate directory,
and use "make bootstrap" instead of just "make" as you
indicate in your report? Please review installation
