64bit ELF is a completely separate issue.  hpux11 also has a 32bit SOM mode
just like earlier versions of hpux.

Looks like you managed to mess with the timestamps of some of the
files, so you'll need to install `bison' or make careful use of
`touch' to get the timestamps fixed.  Or get `contrib/gcc_update' from
the CVS tree and run it with --touch to fix any timestamp problems.

No changes for 64bit support?  I assume this has been introduced in
HP/UX 11, but this assumption may be totally off-base, since only
recently I have gained guest access to an HP/UX machine.

the archive web site where it can be found by all; this would appear to
violate the above prohibition.  While I don't believe that the above
text is legally binding, if the various US states pass the terrible UCITA
law it will be.

So should we delete your message from the archive and block your site
so that none of Credit Lyonnais's precious secrets are disclosed?  Or
can you convince your superiors to remove that obnoxious notice and
ask the employees to attach it only to highly confidential mail?

This is my experience as well.  I've built cleanly out of the
box with gas from binutils 2.9.1.  Is there a list of known problems
somewhere?

Could someone clarify (or point me at the clarification) of just what this
means?  I'm surprised by this, given that it compiles cleanly out of the
tarball and compiles Perl with no test suite failures.

Nope.  No gcc release prior to 2.96 or 2.97 or 3.0 or however the next
release ends up being called supports HP/UX 11.

gcc-2.95.2 doesn't support HPUX 11 (it won't build "out of the box.")  
gcc-2.96 (the current development version) supports HPUX 11 but the warning 
about "instability" of development egcs should be heeded.  As I myself have 
discontinued work with HPUX, I don't know the current quality of that port.  
gcc-2.96 will be found on ftp://gcc.cygnus.com/pub/egcs/snapshots and its 
mirrors with roughly weekly versions.

It won't, sorry.  Support for HP/UX 11 is under development.

Even if you manage to build it, with some `how-to's you may find on
the web, it won't really work: there are some important issues that
aren't handled correctly in gcc 2.95.2.
